Frequently Asked Questions About Botox®
How Long Does Botox® Last?
Although Botox® is a powerful neurotoxin, its results don’t last forever. For many patients, Botox® will typically last 3-4 months before another treatment is necessary for the upkeep of results. Please keep in mind this will vary with every patient.
How Long After Botox® Treatment Will I See Results?
Botox® results are not seen immediately following treatment but will become noticeable within the first few days after your injections. It typically takes two full weeks for the full effects of Botox® to settle in.
What Is Aftercare Like Following Botox® Services?
After your Botox® service, we’ll recommend some simple aftercare steps to ensure the best results and minimize side effects:
- Avoid rubbing the treated area
- Use a cold compress to reduce swelling and bruising
- Avoid physical exertion for 24 hours
- Avoid alcohol and NSAIDs for 24 hours
- Limit sun exposure
- Wait 24 hours to use makeup
Does Botox® Hurt?
Botox® may be uncomfortable for some patients. Although the needle is thin, some patients experience a slight pinching sensation at the site of the injection. Most patients report no pain at all.
