Clarity II laser can be used for a variety of skin treatments, including: 

  • Hair removal – Using photothermolysis, which transfers laser light energy into heat energy, Clarity II’s wavelengths are absorbed by melanin in hair follicles. This causes the build-up of thermal energy, which damages the hair’s growth cells and prevents hair from growing.
  • Pigmentation – Clarity II targets unwanted skin pigmentation, including age spots, sun spots, and hyperpigmentation with specific light energy wavelengths. The pigment absorbs the laser, then breaks down and flakes off the skin.

What To Expect From Clarity II in Portland Treatment

Clarity II treatment is a simple process. 

Before your appointment, you’ll follow these directions to prepare for treatment:

  • Avoid sun exposure three days before the session.
  • Shave the body areas where the procedure will be performed.
  • Do not wax or pluck hair from the roots in the area to be treated. 

Your Clarity II treatment visit will begin with a consultation, where we will examine your skin to identify your skin type and note any skin spots or tattoos. This enables us to specifically set the Clarity II laser’s parameters accordingly.

Next, your technician will pass the Clarity II laser device over the desired treatment area(s). Some patients say they feel a light “snapping” sensation on the skin as the laser passes over. Because of the built-in skin-cooling system, however, you won’t feel any heat or burning during your treatment.

The length of treatment time will depend on the number of areas you’re having treated and their size.

Following the aftercare instructions is critical to achieving optimal results. These include avoiding: 

  • Tanning lotions 
  • Exposure to excessive heat, including warm showers
