Our treatments begin with a consultation at one of our two convenient locations. During this consultation, we will answer any questions you may have about your treatment and review your skincare goals.
After your consultation, the Intracel™ RF Treatment will begin. Your esthetician will gently clean the skin and apply a local anesthetic. Intracel™ RF Treatment is not painful but does use microneedling, which can be uncomfortable to some (it is often described as similar to the sensation of being licked by a cat.)
After applying the aesthetic, your aesthetician will use a medical-grade microneedle pen to begin the procedure. The microneedles will penetrate the center of your skin layer, not as deep as blood vessels but deeper than creams and lotions can penetrate.
Radiofrequency waves deliver heat and energy to this layer of skin, which stimulates collagen production. When the needles leave the skin, those channels fill with collagen, encouraging cell turnover and more youthful, fresher skin. The esthetician will complete the treatment by applying a protective balm to your skin.

Does Intracel™ RF Treatment Hurt?
Intracel™ RF Treatment uses state-of-the-art microneedling to stimulate collagen in the skin. Because the microneedles are extremely small, no bleeding or pain is associated with microneedling treatments like Intracel™ RF.
However, some discomfort is to be expected. It is less painful than getting a tattoo, but some people describe mild discomfort after the procedure. The skin will be red, and it is recommended that the recipient not wear makeup, sunscreen, or skincare for 48 hours after the procedure.
How Many Intracel™ RF Treatments Will I Need?
Renew Aesthetic Clinic begins all treatments by discussing your personal skincare goals. How many treatments of Intracel™ RF you will need depends on your goals and what you are trying to achieve. Typically, three treatments are recommended to achieve optimal results.
What is the Recovery Time for Intracel™ RF Treatment?
Intracel™ RF Treatment does not technically require downtime the way surgical treatments do. However, many people experience redness and bruising after Intracel™ RF Treatment. We suggest patients do the following for 48 hours after treatment:
- Do not apply anything to the skin, including makeup or sunscreen, unless suggested by esthetician
- Stay out of the sun
- Redness and swelling should go down within 7 days.
