What Should I Do Following My LaseMD Pro Treatment?
Patients may experience a mild burning sensation for one to two hours after treatment, along with dryness, redness, soreness, and swelling for a few days. To alleviate discomfort, you can apply a cold compress or ice pack to the treated area. Be sure to wrap the ice pack in sterile, dry gauze to prevent moisture from affecting the skin. Additionally, please follow these aftercare guidelines:
- Keep the treated area moisturized. After the first day, gently cleanse and pat the skin dry for the next two days. Avoid scrubbing. Moisturize daily. Any crusting should naturally separate within 5–7 days after treatment.
- Do not use cosmetics with active ingredients such as Retinol or AHA without prior approval from your doctor.
- Refrain from exercising for at least one week or until initial healing has occurred. Activities that increase blood flow or body temperature (e.g., exercise, alcohol consumption, sauna) may cause increased redness.
- Avoid cosmetics containing alcohol for at least one week after treatment.
For at least 20 days following treatment, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher daily. Using an umbrella, hat, or other outdoor shading methods, you can also protect yourself from direct sunlight.
